When I surveyed the potential societies in my first year at Strathclyde University I noticed a distinct lack of creative-based clubs; everything was either course specific, sports or boring. Thus I put my experience making independent comics to good use and decided to create a space where people could come together and try their hand at this much maligned and often misunderstood artform.
Our club aims:
- Developing group & individual creativity, skills and engagement with comic culture
- Understand design and production processes, business management and deadline fulfilment
- Have fun! Working to provide completed comic projects, in print or other media to a wide audience
Below, you can see some of the comics and designs I created on behalf of the society that were published in the student newspaper, the inter-university science magazine (The GIST) as well as my artistic and design contributions to our two publications "Selected Tales" which I also edited.
